Stuffed Portobello & Dutch Oven Bread

My husband never really ask for specific food for his meals. Which makes it difficult for me to decide what too cook.Especially with him being westerner and me being asian, our taste don't really match.

Tonight however, he saw a pack of Portobello mushroom and insisted on having butter fried portobellos on toast, and I was left with 2 large unused ones.

A quick search led me to this easy stuffed Portobello recipe. I didn't have all the ingredients so had to improvise.

Results? Not bad for first timer!


I may make this again in the future!

I also had a chance to prepare some dough for bread, following Jenny Can Cook tutorial  and I think I made an Ok one.


Not too bad for one night I must say.

8 Years Later

Oh wow, udah lama banget nggak nyentuh blog ini.

Semalem baru ngobrol soal masak-masak di group whatsapp, jadi inget kalo dulu suka banget didapur.

Setelah dapet kerja, makin lama ternyata makin jadi workaholic. Lots have happened in my life - I won't bore anyone that stumbled upon this blog with life dramas. Suffice to say, I have lost the passion. Mau masak, merajut, atau berkebun, nggak ada niat sama sekali. Masak cm sekedar krn kudu makan aja.

For many years, it hasn't been the same. Even now. Tapi sejak semalem mulai liat-liat blog ini lagi, jadi ingat perasaan seneng didapur. Pagi ini sambil wfh, nyambi coba bikin cinnamon rolls pake puff pastry, pake vanilla icing. Resep aslinya punya mbak Lauren   yang simple2 banget resepnya. Doi buat icingnya pake half & half ( kayaknya cuma orang amrik sono yang punya, jadi menurut Google itu separo susu separo cream), karena gak punya akhirnya pake susu aja.

Not bad, bikinnya dikit aja tapi lumayan membangkitkan memori lama. Jadi agak sedih juga.

Mumpung udah ada blog ini, mgkin sudah saatnya waking up, bersihin sela2 hati yang udah banyak debu dan sarang laba-laba. Finding myself back, getting some more positive vibe in my life again. Perhaps with this I can overcome my struggles. Who knows.

Today's puff pastry cinnamon roll

Bahan:
- 2 sheet puff pastry siap pakai
- gula merah (palm sugar)
- bubuk kayumanis

Icing:
- Icing sugar (3/4 cup)
- vanilla essence (1/2 sdt)
- susu cair (1 sdm, lebih dikitt)


Cara membuat:
- panaskan oven dengan suhu 200 derajat Celcius
- letakkan puff pastry sheet di workstation yang udah ditaburi tepung,
- taburi dengan gula merah dan bubuk kayu manis
- gulung, potong menjadi 8 bagian
- panggang 15 - 20 menit sampai mengembang dan kecoklatan
- sampurkan semua bahan icing
- setelah rolls matang, tuangkan icingnya dan tunggu beberapa menit
